Bumble Bees Room
For our 2-3 year olds we have a staff:child ratio of 1:4 at all times. As your child moves up to the Bumble Bees Room there is a little more structure to their day. Snack and meal times become more regular and children who are potty training are taken to the toilet at regular intervals. We continue to follow the ‘Birth to Three Matters Framework’
There is lots of opportunity for creative play, painting, drawing and making things. We have games and toys suitable for this age group and encourage free play supervised by the staff with lots of singing and music time. We begin to enable your child to learn shapes, numbers, letters and colours through their play and ensure there is time for imaginative play with dressing up and home corner activities.
After lunch the Bumble Bees Room is used for those children who need a sleep and the 2 – 3 year olds who do not sleep join the Ladybird Room for a short time.
The children share the garden with the Ladybirds and we encourage lots of outside activity, in most weathers. We have a large decked area that is partly undercover to allow for outside play in wetter weather. We ask that you ensure your child comes in for the day with suitable outdoor clothing.
The staff are also keen to take the children outside the nursery setting when possible, for example walks to the local shops and library. You will be fully informed of any outside trips we arrange.
