Snacks and Mealtimes
Daisy Chains strongly believes in the importance of fresh home cooked on our premises. We ensure the children are provided with healthy filling snacks and meals for a well balanced diet. All of the children are encouraged to try new food and to eat plenty of vegetables and fruit. We ensure there is always a vegetarian option available and we can cater for any special dietary needs.
All of our weaning foods are prepared from fresh ingredients. We prefer to follow the Government and Health Visitor guidelines of not weaning babies before six months.
We offer the children milk, water and low sugar squash to drink during the day at all times.
Sample Menu
Breakfast –
Choice of three cereals and toast
Morning Snack –
Carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes, apple
Lunch –
Chicken, mash potatoes, fresh seasonal vegetables and gravy
Pasta and vegetables
Bananas and custard, or ice-cream (low fat) or fruit
Afternoon Snack –
Variety of cheese and crackers, satsuma, kiwi fruit
Tea –
Variety of sandwiches, salad and Fromage Frais
